Early Life

Mahesh was born in Mach, Balochistan, and belongs to the Sindhi caste Lalwani. He had his early education in Balochistan. Being an energetic musician, songwriter, and videographer, he has been singing since his childhood. He got his training from Ustad Zia ul Haq and Ustad Zafara Alee and he draws his influence from his guru, Master Chandra.

Mahesh can play different instruments, including tabla and harmonium. To compose and explore music, he has established his own company, Mahesh Lalwani Company. He sings in Sindhi and Urdu. So far, he has released two albums, Jai Samadha and Jai Jhulelal. Songs like Muhinji Bedi athayi vich serr te, and Tokhay SAMADHIN Varo Saeen Chavayan, Tuhinje Hath mei’n Qismat Aa are popular. His other albums are also in process. Mach Central Jail Superintendent SSP Naveed Ilyas also awarded him for performing at the Machh-Central Jail.

1. What is music for you?

Music is my passion. I feel peace within my soul and it gives me the strength to express my emotions and feelings through my music. For me, music teaches you to live in the moment of your feelings, and you can explain your feelings and emotions, and situations through music. Music heals my wounds and makes me cross the materialistic boundaries to reach the spiritual world.

Music teaches you ways to live, makes you feel, and explains things and situations. It encourages you, motivates you, it pours energy into you. Music can make you cross your boundaries and you’ll feel powerful like never.

2. What and who inspired you to make music?

My source of inspiration is my passion for music and my music teacher, Izhar Ali, also inspired me to make my flavor of Sindhi music with unique Sindhi tunes. Music can kick-start your neurons into action.

3. If you were not a musician, what would you be?

If I were not a musician, I would have been a businessman.

4. Musicians that you dreamt of meeting and performing?

My dream is to meet and perform with Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Mohit Lalwani, Jatin Udasi, Vandana Nirankari.

5. How has the response to your music been so far?

The response is encouraging and good so far, and my audience and the public like and appreciate my music.

6. Do you think social media has helped music to grow?

Yes, because nowadays its era of social media and social media platforms has revolutionized to establish the music brands and many tactics such as playing live, recording and broadcasting live, distributing music, and seeking more audiences through social media and social media platforms to empower the artists.

7. What are your plans for the future?

I have plans to make Musical Sessions and invite other musicians to collaborate with me.

8. What is your favorite instrument? What is the reason for attachment with the particular instrument?

Harmonium and piano are my favorite instrument and I feel refreshed playing them. They help me in creating new compositions.

9. Do you sing only in Sindhi or have any intention of singing in other languages too?

Yes, besides Sindhi, I have sung Urdu songs.

10. Did your family support you in your singing career?

Yes, they have supported me in becoming who I am today.

11. What did you do during the pandemic?

Just Music creation.

12. Message for youngsters who want to come into this field.
