Khan, a native of Peshawar, has had a long and successful career, as shown by his compelling performance as Ghalib at the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) or his playing in the PTV serial Koi Na Adda Sanj Mila. Along with theatre and television, he often displayed his creative talent in radio and movies.

Qavi began working for Radio Pakistan Peshawar at an early age. From then, he became a television celebrity and travelled to Pakistan. He began his career in PTV and Lollywood movies in 1964, making him one of the few performers to have seen the downfall of the movie business firsthand.

He was married in 1968 and had four kids, all of whom chose to emigrate rather than continue in his father’s footsteps. Despite his travels, he was forced to remain in his nation.

In addition to Andhera Ujala, Fishar, Lahore Gate, Mutthi Bhar Mitti, Betiyan, Cinderella, and Dure Shahwar, he appeared in many more plays. With roles in movies like Muhabbat Zindagi Hai, Chand Suraj, Sarfrosh, Kalay Chor, Zameen Aasman, and Pari, he also carved out a unique position for himself in Pakistani cinema.

Ultimately, he found himself in the director’s chair after a lengthy performing career in theatre, cinema, and television. He developed an obsession with the notion of creating movies. But it was a field that went beyond his creative abilities. He was too simple a person to understand how cunning distributors and exhibitors might be. He suffered a significant financial loss from this business.

In terms of his professional life, Khan was most recently seen in Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa starring Fizza Ali Meerza and Nabeel Qureshi’s Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad. His most recent small-screen endeavour was Meri Shehzadi, a film by Urwa Hocane and Ali Rehman Khan. On the programme, Khan played Hocane’s grandpa. He eventually departed the project however because of his deteriorating health.
