We humans have the potential to stare a black hole into eyes (or dark abyss in this case), fly back to the moon, reach places that nobody else has, and somehow also create absurd inventions that make no sense at all. They say we have progressed, not just in the way of how we live our life but also in our intellect. I would say we are back from where have started. Back in the 1900s, there were plenty of heartrending inventions that would make you cry big tears but for the people of that era, they were pretty handy. Google ‘baby cages’ and you will understand what I mean.
As the modern era has arrived, we hold our heads higher and make sure that we strut around with a phone and scream evolution at the boomers. However, if there is anything that some advanced members of our species i.e. tiktokers have proved, it is that we have found creative ways to be more stupid and manage to make it look like a scientific marvel.
Consider, for example, what some of the rich elitist members have pulled off. They have added another blasting feat to their resumes which will further fill the headlines with awestriking but otherwise, ridiculous piece of news. Really makes you wonder, “What did they do that for?!”.
Only recently, the world’s longest limousine has been restored to its former glory. Being called super even among the other limousines, this giraffe of a car is 30.54 meters. The car broke its own useless record of 1986 by a small fraction Just what we needed to know to make this world a better place. It was initially built to be 18.28 meters and it has 26 wheels. Imagine if a tire was punctured. It would take forever for the poor mechanic to figure out which one.
Now, that mechanic will surely go mad as the car has been extended to 30.54 meters. It has been appropriately called The American Dream because that is the perfect standard of perfection. One that no commoner can ever achieve.
The American Dream is basically a cheap mansion on wheels. It has a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a bathtub, mini-golf course, helipad and can fit more than 75 people. The only disadvantage is that you cannot drive it across the city without causing major blocks all across the city. Think of it as a train without the flexibility part.
The guy who restored it from a clunker to a proper car says that American Dream cannot be put on the road because it is too long. But it won’t be placed in a warehouse either. But it was meant to be placed on a display. But it is also something he was really proud of. Huh…. dude make up your mind already!
I hope we learn a lesson from this legendary car that ended up eating a lot of revenue and delivered a roadless vehicle.
