Tauseef Ahmed Appointed as Interim Chief Selector of Pakistan Men’s National Cricket Team

Former test cricketer Tauseef Ahmed has been appointed as the interim Chief selector of Pakistan men’s national cricket team. The decision was taken on Tuesday in Pakistan Cricket Board headquarter in Lahore.

The position was lying vacant after Inzamam ul Haq resigned from his position on October 30th. Former Cricketer Wajahat ullah Wasti is appointed as head of junior selection committee. Both Wasti and Ahmed were a part of selection committee already.

Inzamam resigned as Chief Selector at a time when Pakistan is in India playing the World Cup. Inzamam, who had a blistering career as a player for Pakistan, has been a part of selection committee from quiet a while. His resignation came as a result of “Conflict of interest”.

“People speak without research. Questions were raised on me so I decided that it was better I resign,” Inzamam said in a statement

The first assignment for the new Chief selector is selecting a team for 2023-24 Australia tour. Pakistan will tour Australia in December. Pakistan will play three test matches against the World Test Champions.
