On Sunday, tennis player Sania Mirza’s father announced the divorce between his daughter and Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik. He stated that the couple had been separated for some months.
Imran Mirza stated on X, the defunct Twitter platform: “Sania has consistently kept her private life hidden from the public.” But today, she feels compelled to disclose that she and Shoaib had been divorced for a few months. She hopes Shoaib has a successful journey ahead of him.”

“At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy,” Sania’s father wrote in a letter.
Imran made the announcement one day after Shoaib used an Instagram post to announce his marriage to Pakistani actress Sana Javed.
Following the couple’s unexpected Instagram photo release of their nuptials, followers began to wonder if Shoaib and Sania were still together.
According to sources, the 37-year-old tennis player and the cricketer separated in late 2022 and then got a divorce.
Additionally, they said that Sania had been ignoring the former all-rounder’s meetings with other ladies and that she was not happy about it. But Sania did this once she could take no more of her marriage.
After separating in 2022, Shoaib and Sania—once known as the “power couple”—continued to make headlines for a considerable amount of time.
Sana and Shoaib were said to have split up, but they both remained silent about it allegedly because of agreements. Until now, none of them had publicly acknowledged the rumors about their relationships.
The pair was married in 2010 and welcomed their son, Izhan Mirza-Malik, into the world in 2018.
The cricket player had denied the rumors several times and even sent greetings for Sania on social media over the course of four to five months, even though the fans noticed a noticeable gulf between them.
