On Monday, there was another altercation between two student groups at the nation’s top-ranked Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Islamabad, which spread dread and anxiety across the campus. QAU closed after this calsh.

The students from the two distinct ethnic groups were also fighting. Approximately 20 kids were hurt during the altercation, and two of them are reportedly in severe condition.

“About 24 pupils were hurt, and two of them are in serious condition. According to a QAU official, we transported the wounded to Poly Clinic and the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

According to some accounts, one of the kids was injured as a result of the usage of a dagger, he continued.

To calm the situation, police flocked to the area as well. The police said that kids from the aforementioned gang had fought 10 days before, and that another altercation occurred today.

Later, after realising how serious the situation was, the administration of the institution made the decision to shut it permanently.

Quaid-i-Azam University has been shut down till further notice due to violent clashes between student factions, according to QAU registrar Dr. Raja Qaiser Ahmed.

A statement made on Monday read: “QAU is closed until further instructions in light of the unstable law and order situation amid violent clashes between student groups. By this notice, all hostel inhabitants (boys and girls) are required to leave the accommodations right away.

It is important to highlight that virtually every year, a fight breaks out between members of different student councils, severely interrupting classroom activity and harming the reputation of the nation’s leading colleges.

According to a QAU official, the university has discussed the situation with the district administration and the Islamabad police, and in the coming days, a significant operation would be carried out to have the dormitory removed.
