Islamabad United beat Peshawar Zalmi by six wickets in the 12th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2023) at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on Thursday.
United’s run-chase was led by Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
United led the run-chase with 80-1 when Rahmanullah proved unstoppable on the powerplay.
United won their second match in three after the right-handed batsman hit 62 off 31 balls. His tremendous knock had seven boundaries and four maximums.
Gurbaz continued firing after losing opening partner Colin Munro in the third over. Arshad eliminated Munro after nine runs.

Munro hit a stunning maximum on the preceding ball. Arshad recovered to tidy up on the middle stump.
Rassie van der Dussen scored 42 runs and Asif Ali hit 29 with a boundary and three sixes to finish the chase for the two-time winners.
Arshad, Jimmy Neesham, and Usman Qadir took wickets for Zalmi.
Hassan Ali’s early wickets gave United the upper hand with the ball.
Despite losing wickets, Zalmi captain Babar Azam battled valiantly. Peshawar scored 156-8 in 20 overs despite a fast start.
After Babar and Mohammad Haris started Peshawar well, Hassan scored three times to put United in control.
The first-wicket pair scored 72 runs in 42 balls.
United’s captain Shadab Khan broke the opening partnership and sent Haris back to the pavilion after 40 runs in 21 balls.
Islamabad’s rising star Mubasir Khan bowled Saim Ayub, the second batsman out. Left-handed hitter left after three runs.
Hasan Ali, playing his maiden PSL 8 match, hit twice in his second over to put United in control. Tom Kohler-Cadmore (1) and Rovman Powell (0) returned to the pavilion.
The right-arm pacer struck again, removing Jimmy Neesham with a short ball as Babar attempted to partner him.
After that, United took wickets regularly, but Babar held tight. He scored 75 unbroken runs with seven boundaries and a maximum.
