The best thing about Coke Studio season 14 is that it is catering to all audiences. What started with a folk touch has now turned towards the younger generations with a flair for rap. Every week we have a new song to vibe to – and the song of this week is Muzaiz Saarif by our most beloved Farish Shafi, and Meesha Shafi.
While individually, these siblings are perfect in their fields. Faris is known for his rap and the best part about him is that we can’t always understand what he is saying when hearing something for the first time because he raps that fast. But then again, you can’t help but want to listen to his songs again and again, and ultimately, you get the rift. Faris’s songs are also known for highlighting the social element to them.
Meesha is a queen for many. Keeping the controversies aside, let’s focus on her talent and the beauty in her voice. Kitni variation hai inki awaz mein bhai. Because every time a new song comes out – we can’t help but fall in love with it, all the while wondering how she even manages to do it.
Talent knows no bound in his family and when Coke Studio announced that their next song was of these two siblings – people went crazy. All of us had wanted to hear both Faris and Meesha work on a song together, and it seems like a dream come true.
However, there is one thing that needs to be repeated again and again, and it is that Coke Studio never disappoints. The way that they have been dropping songs on us, and with a critical eye to the detail leaves us speechless.
Muaziz Saarif is just no exception. Yes, both these singers are amazing but the first thing to notice is the jaw-dropping set. The lights and camera handling, the beats, and just everything about this song scream royalty.
Faris Shafi’s random jazz and his dance moves are to die for. And let’s not forget the fact that Meesha looks like a queen. But the lyrics of this song are also so on point. Maybe, it could just be our wishful thinking but there is a possibility that this song marks the interim of the season, and it is for this fact that Coke studio is acknowledging their beloved subscribers, and the fans.
Faris talks about moving on – of letting go of all the things that have happened. He talks or rather raps about just not paying any thought to the meaningless things that happen in our life. Meesha follows the same drift but makes sure to let the world know that all the things you do – and all the things you want to say to the world, must all be true and should come from one’s heart.
We are definitely listening to this song on loop until Coke Studio drops their next song!
