India in a Comfortable Position on Points Table After Defeating Bangladesh Convincingly

With 4 wins out of 4 matches, India is in a comfortable position on the points table for the ICC World Cup 2023. Last evening, India defeated Bangladesh convincingly by 7 wickets to retain second place on the points table. New Zealand is in the top spot just because of its better run rate.

Indian batter Virat Kohli scored a magnificent century and saw his team cross the target in the 42nd over of their inning.

After two major upsets in the ongoing tournament, Bangladesh was hoping to upset India, but in the absence of their captain Shakib Al Hasan due to injury, the task of upsetting the hosts was really hard for the Bagnoli Tigers.

After winning the toss on a good batting track at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, Bangladesh opted to bat first. They got off to a solid start with an opening partnership of 93 runs between Das and Tanzid Hasan. They couldn’t make good use of a good start and scored 256 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 50 overs.

Das was the highest run-getter for Bangladesh with a well-made 66 runs, and his opening partner Tanzid got out after scoring 51 runs. Jadeja, Bumrah, and Mohammad Siraj took two wickets each for their side.

Skipper Rohit Sharma gave India a brilliant start with a quick 48 runs of 40 runs at the top. Later, Virat Kohli scored 103 unbeaten. Virat hit a six to complete his century and hit the winning runs for his team. India chased the target with 51 balls to spare in the innings.

Hosts nation India is looking favorite to win the mega cricketing event.
