Fan Parks Bringing the Action Closer
To ensure that fans don’t miss out on the live action and electrifying atmosphere, the ICC has announced the establishment of fan parks across multiple locations, including a dedicated fan park at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Pakistan. This initiative will allow fans to experience the game’s intensity and cheer for their teams from 11,000 kilometers away. The Rawalpindi fan park will feature a giant screen broadcasting the match live, transforming the stadium into a mini-cricket carnival.
The fan park in Rawalpindi will open its gates 90 minutes before the start of the game and will remain accessible until 60 minutes after the match concludes. This setup is part of the ICC’s broader strategy to bring the excitement of the T20 World Cup to more communities than ever before, with a record number of fan parks in five different countries.
A Global Cricket Carnival
In addition to Rawalpindi, fans in Cedar Creek Park, Seaford, New York, and the Indira Gandhi Indoor Arena in New Delhi, India, among others, will also be able to gather and enjoy the live broadcast of this marquee match. The ICC has confirmed that 22 World Cup matches will be shown at various fan parks, making this the highest number of fan parks ever set up for an ICC World Cup.
These parks are not just about watching the game. They will offer live entertainment, including DJs, food and drink outlets, appearances by cricket ambassadors, and family activities. It’s a complete cricket experience designed to unite fans in celebration of the sport.
