“Don’t test my Patience”, Shaheen Afridi posts on Instagram

Shaheen Shah Afridi appears to be deeply upset following his dismissal as T20I captain, as evidenced by a recent Instagram story that emits a strong sense of anger.

In a new video on his Instagram story, he states, “Never put me in a situation where I need to reveal my capacity for cruelty and ruthlessness. My patience shouldn’t be tested, as I might be the most gentle and sweet individual you’ve encountered, but once pushed to my limit, you’ll witness actions from me that were previously unimaginable.”

This post has led to speculation among viewers that Shaheen is dissatisfied with those believed to have influenced his removal from the leadership position of the national team.

On March 29, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced Babar Azam as the team’s white-ball captain for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, starting April 18.

The PCB described the captaincy shift as a “strategic move” intended to prioritize player welfare and optimal performance, highlighting their commitment to preserving player longevity, particularly among fast bowlers.

Notably, Shaheen was named the T20 captain after Babar stepped down from the position in November 2023, following the team’s disappointing outcomes at the 2023 Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup.
