Famous batsman and cricket player Babar Azam has offered his resignation as captain after Pakistan’s early exit from the Cricket World Cup. Babar wrote on Instagram, “It’s a difficult decision but I feel it is the right time for this call,” describing how hard it was for him to make his choice. He also reaffirmed his pledge to play for Pakistan in all formats. I will continue to play for Pakistan in all three types of cricket.

When asked about his time as captain, Babar remembered being named in 2019 and said, “Over the past four years, I’ve experienced many highs and lows on and off the pitch, but I wholeheartedly and passionately aimed to maintain Pakistan’s pride and respect in the cricket world.”

Fans overwhelmingly supported Babar’s choice, which shows how much of an impact he had on Pakistan’s cricket scene.

Asim Azhar, a singer, tweeted, “#thankyoubabarazam you gave your all as captain of Pakistan and we are proud of you,” echoing the feelings of many fans who have long admired Babar. I’m praying for a lot of runs, records, and wins for you and Pakistan right now.

Fans expressed their unwavering support and admiration on social media, writing things like, “We will always support you.” Someone wrote, “Love you, king.” Someone else said, “It doesn’t matter if you lose the game; you win our hearts.”

“Resigning as captain is the right thing to do. Keep your mind on your game and keep shining!” stressed a user. “God willing, you will become the best batsman PCT has ever had.” “Always behind you,” said someone else.

“Babar is truly a world-class player, and we want him to continue to thrive as a player,” Zaka Ashraf had said, recognising Babar’s skill. His hitting is among the best in Pakistani history.

At the same time, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) named Shan Masood as the Test leader for the next World Test Championship cycle, which will run from 2023 to 2025. Shaheen Afridi, a lively left-arm fast bowler, has taken charge of the T20 team and is getting ready for the difficulties of a tough five-match T20 series in New Zealand after the Australian tour. The PCB has not yet announced who will be the next ODI leader.
