Time to start thinking pink! The long-awaited movie, Barbie, styling named Barbiecore, which is directed by Greta Gerwig and stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, is finally on its way to theatres.
People who were lucky enough to go to Barbie’s world premiere at The Shrine Theatre in Los Angeles on Friday, July 9, saw that fantastic and humorous comedy with all the stars there. But the rest of the world has to wait until July 21. Yes, you heard it right. The release date for Barbie is July 21, 2023.
Warner Bros has announced that Barbie will come out on July 21 everywhere in the world. The US, UK, Spain, Ireland, Italy, and everywhere else will all be happy about Barbie’s release at the same time.
Letting you know more about the movie, Barbie, The Album, which is the official name of Barbie’s album, is getting a lot of attention because it has songs by famous singers.
Rolling Stone announced in three parts who would be on The Album’s star-studded music.
On May 23, the first news came out about the first group of singers who would be in the music video. Dua Lipa, Ice Spice, Ava Max, Dominic Fike, Fifty-fifty, Gayle, Haim, Kali, Karol G, Khalid, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, PinkPantheress, Ryan Gosling, Tame Impala, Kid Laroi, and Charli XCX were said to be on the Barbie’s music.

On July 6, the names of Billie Eilish and her Finneas, who will be in the music video, were revealed.
On July 10, the last secret singer for The Album was revealed to be Sam Smith, making the full list of singers.
Later, Smith went on Instagram and said, “I can’t wait for you to hear what we’ve made together.” He also said, “Barbie land! Here we are!!!”
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Margot Robbie, who plays the main character in the movie, said that there are some lines on the music that make the story even funnier.
She went on to say, “The music is the voice of the audience.” The words match what’s going on in the video. So, it’s not just a score; it’s a tool that adds to what the listener sees and feels.”

Many people have taken on a “Let’s go Barbie” attitude lately because of the Valentino collection and the future Barbie movie. Barbiecore has been on the rise for the past few years.
Since 2019, a lot of Barbiecore Pinterest boards have been made, and the term was recently a popular word on TikTok, where it was seen by nearly 15 million people.
Last July was also a busy month for searches on Etsy. According to Good Morning America, searches for hot pink fashion items were up 35% in the three months before July 2021 compared to the three months before that.

There’s only one colour that captures what Barbicore is all about, and you got it: pink!
“Barbiecore” is all about accepting bright colours, especially the doll’s signature hot pink, in everyday life, Etsy trend expert Dayna Isom Johnson said. “This is a welcome mood-booster after the last few years.”
She also said, “Many people long for simpler, sunnier, and less stressful times, so it’s only natural that this ’80s-inspired, unapologetically pink style is the ‘it’ look of the summer.”
The shapes range from rubber minidresses to tiny fit-and-flares, and the details range from feathers to sparkles, which are a Barbie staple.
There are a lot of different kinds of shoes, from super-high pumps to jelly block heels. Also, hair clips made of plastic and trinkets that are holographic or fluorescent are great adds.
Even though hot pink is the most popular, bubblegum pink and fuchsia also fit the Barbiecore style. The colour is only one part of the style, though. The other part is dressing like it’s the 1980s or the early 2000s.
Who among the famous Celebs has worn Barbie clothes?
Celebrities have been taking fashion cues from Barbie for a long time, like Hailey Bieber’s throwback Halloween outfit in 2016 and Kacey Musgraves’ Moschino moment at the Met Gala in 2019. However, the doll’s impact on pop culture is stronger than ever now.
After the Valentino show in March 2022, there was a lot of hot pink at that year’s Grammy Awards, from Justin Bieber’s bright fuchsia beanie to Saweetie’s eye-catching outfit.
Soon after, the trend kept going at Coachella in April of that year, when stars wore the look on stage. Conan Grey wore a special Valentino dress, and star Harry Styles looked amazing in pink feathers, which surprise guest Lizzo also wore.
The colour was also seen on the red carpet at the Met Gala in 2022. Sebastian Stan wore all pink from head to toe, and Glenn Close wore an electric pink suit.
A-listers have also had Barbiecore-themed birthday parties, such as Khloe Kardashian’s 38th birthday party in June and Robbie’s 32nd birthday party in July (she even had a big pink Barbie birthday cake on set)
What is the reason behind this Trend?
Since it was first made in 1959, the famous Barbie doll has changed a lot and become more and more open-minded over time. Christie was the first black Barbie doll, which came out in 1969. In 2016, as part of its #TheDollEvolves campaign, Mattel gave Barbie a 21st century makeover.
She now has curvy, short, and tall bodies, as well as different skin tones and wigs. The same goes for her male partner, Ken, who has also changed since he first came out.
As of 2020, the Barbie Fashionistas line has 176 dolls, both male and female, with nine different body types, 35 skin tones and 94 hairstyles. In 2022, the toy company added a doll with behind-the-ear hearing aids, a doll with an artificial leg and a Ken doll with vitiligo to its Fashionistas line.
