Periods are a taboo that we don’t like to talk about. It is something that we are scared of mentioning in front of other people – which is perhaps the reason why our mothers have made sure to whisper it to us as if it was something disgusting. Whereas on the contrary, it is something very normal and we should be able to talk about it. It is for this reason that we decided to write an article today to educate people on what a woman goes through when it is that time of the month.
So, what does a woman goes through when she is on her periods?
It is different for almost everyone. Some people have back pains, while some have immense pain in their stomachs. Some get so weak that they faint, and some can’t even walk because of the pain in their legs. And then, some people have all this pain before periods, and some on the first few days on the periods. At times it can feel as if someone is inserting countless needles into your stomach.
And amidst all of this, you have to continue to do everything as if everything was normal.
Another side effect of periods is the immense emotional instability a woman goes through in her periods. You don’t even understand why you are feeling sad or down or drained of all energy but you do.
It is painful and unexplainable.
What can you do when a woman is on her periods?
This is one of the most important parts because most people, and especially men do not know what to do when a woman is on her periods, and it is for this reason that they just either ignore them or tap them on their heads pretending everything is fine.
But none of this works.
All woman wants at that time of the month is chocolates and a constant reminder that they are loved. They want to be pampered. There are times when you can want to eat a weird combination of something and if you know someone on periods who wants that – then make sure that you provide the woman with that.
Periods are not something that is wrong. It is the most natural thing in the world and it is high time that we begin to understand this and start to talk about it so that more and more women all over the world can feel free and comfortable.
