Babar Azam and his team’s World Cup quest is a mess after three straight losses. This seems to be the norm in Pakistan cricket.
Pakistan got off to a good start in the World Cup by beating the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in two games. However, India, Australia, and Afghanistan all beat them, leaving them with four points from five games.
Their next games are against South Africa, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England. They need to win all of these games to make it to the semifinals.
It’s hard to believe that Pakistan went from being a world-class team to a boring and hopeless one in this competition.
What happened in Ahmedabad during the game against India wasn’t a surprise, but it looks like Pakistan hasn’t been able to get over their huge loss to India. Their loss to Australia only made things worse.
India was clearly the choice, but Pakistan wasn’t as bad as they seemed in that game. They got off to a good start, but then they fell apart and were bowled out for just 191 runs.
But the game against Australia showed two different sides of Pakistan’s bowling group. At the same time, the spinners threw 152 “dot balls,” but they also let 367 runs score in 50 overs.
Also, it looks like nothing is planned and no effort is made to think outside the box.
Not long ago, Pakistan was thought to have the best bowling attack in the world. But now, that best attack doesn’t seem to be anywhere. It’s hard to believe that this poor bowling performance is only due to Naseem Shah’s absence.
That could be one reason, but who is to blame for not knowing what was going on with the bowling attack?
Our actions seem to have hurt the team over and over again, and now we are paying for it.
Wasim Akram, our former captain, is right when he says that our players don’t care about first-class cricket. This is why they’re not as good in ODIs as they can be in T20Is.
Babar Azam also has trouble with his teammates not putting in enough effort on the pitch. There were three missed catches, including one by Usama Mir that gave Warner a lifeline in the game against Australia. The fielding was also not very good in the game against Afghanistan, which raised questions about the level of fitness.
It may be too harsh, but the Pakistan team’s defence was worse than that of a club team in the area. There was no work, no drive, no intention, and no attitude. Not at all. They looked tired right from the start.
The time has come for Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, and Babar Azam to change their plans and think about what they can do next.
Pakistan is down, but they are still in the game.
It’s late, but not too late. The people in charge in Pakistan still have time to get up and fix things.
