On Wednesday, October 20, at 9:30 am, the site’s Down Detector suddenly erupted with complaints of problems, which is when the problems were initially noticed.
A spinning wheel greeted visitors who attempted to publish on the website. Both its desktop website and mobile app experienced a brief outage last month compared to this one for LinkedIn.
Similar claims of the website’s outage can be found on IsItDownRightNow, a website that tracks website outages, with users posting from all over the world claiming they were having technical issues. Commenters from South Korea, India, the United States, and the United Kingdom said they could access the website but were unable to view postings or other content on their accounts.
In response to one criticism, the social support staff for LinkedIn posted on Twitter that it is “currently working on a fix.” We appreciate your patience as they try to fix this problem. We expect to have this rectified as soon as possible, so please come back to our site later today. Thanks.ā

LinkedIn is one of the most popular social media sites on the planet, used primarily for professional services. Users typically update their friends and colleagues on job developments, work achievements, and new positions within their company.
The outage lasted roughly an hour and a half and the site appears to be back to full functionality now.
