Are you ready to dive head first into some Minion madness? Well, you’re in luck, because our favorite little dungaree-wearing, chaos-causing, banana-loving animated comedy characters are back and this time, we get to find out the origin of their master Gru.
The hugely popular animated comedy films from Illumination Entertainment have built up an army of fans, both children and adults since they bounced onto our screens with 2010’s Despicable Me. with Minions 2 the directors are all set to spread absolute madness and fun adventured starring the cute little yellow creatures as they learn to work for their new master, a young Gru.
Minions: The Rise of Gru is directed by Kyle Balda and written by Brian Lynch. The plot of this prequel is set in the early 1970s, amidst retro art, disco music, and colorful costumes, all signature classics of that era. Gru is a 12-year-old fanboy of The Vicious 6, a super villain group. Along with his newfound team of Minions, led by Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and the newcomer, Otto, Gru devises a scheme to become a recognized villain.
