With the third test between Pakistan and Australia wrapped up, we saw some wonderful performances from both sides, especially Australia. The first two tests resulted in a draw, making the third test crucial for both teams.

Pakistan Cup 2022
Pakistan Cup is in full swing as it provides the young player with exposure and practice.
Six teams are taking part in it: Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern, Southern Punjab, and Central Punjab. At the points table, KPK is topping the table. Balochistan is in the second number, Sindh third, Central Punjab fourth, Southern Punjab, and Northern Punjab are out of the semi-finals. They will compete for 5th and 6th positions. Sindh’s Sharjeel Khan is the top scorer with 534 runs. Norther’s Umar Amin with 516 runs, and Southern Punjab’s skipper Agha Salman has 488 runs to their credit. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Khalid Usman has 23 wickets, Baluchistan’s Yasir Shah has 18 wickets, Sindh’s Shahnawaz Dahani with 15 wickets to their name.

PCB reveals Women’s cricket season
PCB has shared the women’s cricket team schedule so that they get more exposure to bridge the gap with the international teams. It would also create more opportunities for the young women players to explore and grow according to the demands of the game. The national women’s team will play eight tournaments which include ICC Women’s Championship commitments, ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup. PCB will also organize the U19 T20 competition in Muridke in August, in which all six Cricket Associations will take part.

The GSL Honours Board gets updated
With the end of the test series in Lahore, the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore honors board has been updated. Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, and Usman Khawaja had their names engraved for their best performances in Lahore.

Postponed WI ODI series to be resumed
Because of Covid, the ODIs against West Indies were called off. The series is to be rescheduled for June in Rawalpindi or Karachi.
PCB has decided for a June window for the postponed ODI series against West Indies. Matches likely to be played at Karachi or Rawalpindi.
The ODI series against WI was postponed in Dec 2021 due to a Corona Virus outbreak in Windies squad.

Karachi stadium gets new pitches
The pitches have been the talk of the day for the test series, but the good news is that the stadium will get new pitches. They will import the soil from Australia to be used as a trial at different locations. They have also hired an Australian expert to give a thorough assessment and evaluation once they made the pitches.
