We Pakistanis are a strange bunch. Following some of the weirdest trends and habits, we proudly form one of the weirdest people on the planet earth. These trends and habits don’t just extend to our common beliefs or usual stuff. It also extends to our food choices on an everyday basis. There is literally a list of some of the weirdest food combos that some Pakis will find very normal. For some, these food combos might be disgusting or even indigestible. However, some of us love and even gulp them in copious amounts. Given below are some of the quirkiest food combos that will scream Pakistani the moment you see them.
Â
- Milk Soda
This is by far the most common beverage we love and drink. The recipe is simple. Take cold milk and mix it well with 7UP or Sprite. However, some people take it even further, and end up mixing Pepsi or Coca-Cola with the milk. It creates light grey or light red drink that will taste awesome nonetheless. However, it does look a bit weird. Milk soda is so common that even vendors around the streets sell this drink.

- Mango with Paratha
If you grew up in Pakistan, chances are you must have tried this strange meal. It is quite a weird food combination. Paratha is kind of a flat bread which is fried on a pan. And mango is a delicious fruit that is found in summers. Combine the two and you got another combo that some of the kids grew up while eating.

- Nihari with Rice
Nihari is kind of a gravy that is cooked with meat, be it chicken or beef. Where some people cannot fathom eating Nihari with anything other than delicious naan (another kind of flat bread that is baked), a few take it to the next level. Nihari with rice is another food combo that some of us find very weird. The rest of us find it very acceptable and outright delicious.
Â
- Zarda and Pulao
Some of us find it an abomination. To fathom the salty rice of pulao mixed with the rice of sweet Zarda is outright sacrilege in eyes of some foodies. The other foodies love this kind of weird combination. If you have eaten the langar at Bari Imam, you will have come across this weird combo that is as different as fire and ice.
Â
- Boiled Rice with Ketchup
Some of us love this weird food combo. We often cook boiled rice with a nice curry of gram seems. But some people only pour ketchup or chilly sauce on the boiled rice and they have got a meal of the day. If one adds boiled eggs or salad, it becomes even more delicious.
