The first trailer for the upcoming movie The Marvels, which will include an impressive roster of female superheroes from the MCU, has been published by Marvel Studios (MCU). Starring Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and the voices of Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, the film depicts an intergalactic rescue mission.
Rambeau, now captain of the S.A.B.E.R. Space Station, and Nick Fury engage in a tense encounter that starts the trailer (Samuel L. Jackson). As Ms. Marvel, Rambeau reveals that she, Danvers, and Khan all possess special abilities as she traverses a rift in the space-time continuum.
Throughout the course of the novel, Danvers’ responsibilities take her to a strange wormhole linked to a revolutionary Kree, where her abilities begin to interact with those of Kamala and Monica. In order to rescue the universe, these odd three will need to learn to work together.
In addition to Park Seo-Joon and Saagar Shaikh, the cast also includes Zenoiba Shroff, Mohan Kapur, and Zawe Ashton. Nia DaCosta is the first Black woman and the fourth woman to direct an MCU film; she co-wrote the screenplay with Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells.
The Marvels follows Ms. Marvel, the Disney+ series that featured Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, and is a sequel to the 2019 film Captain Marvel. According to the official movie description, now that Danvers has taken back her identity from the Kree, she must now bear the responsibility of restoring order to the cosmos.
