With the fifth wave of COVID-19 on the rise, scientists from all over the world are looking for a cure that will for once and all end this pandemic. With various clinical trials currently underway, the results from China seem the most successful.
On 17th January, Pakistani Health Authorities announced the completion of a successful clinical trial for Chinese Herbal Medicine for treating COVID-19. This Chinese medicine, Jinhua Qinggan Granules (JHQG), manufactured by Juxiechang (Beijing) Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, is already being used to treat COVID-19 patients in China.
“Since it was tried on patients with different variants of COVID-19, we expect it to be effective on Omicron as on other variants,” Professor Iqbal Chaudhry, director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Science (ICCBS) where trials were conducted, told reporters.
The trials were conducted with 300 people who were all treated at home. The success ratio of these was 87.7%, which is considered a huge breakthrough. “In the last seven days, COVID cases in Pakistan have increased by 170% while deaths have also increased by 62%,” the National Command Operation Centre (NCOC), which is overseeing the pandemic response, said in a tweet on Monday.
This is alarming, and the need to use Chinese herbal medicine now is significant. The fifth wave of Covid-19, with the looming threat of Omicron, requires us to be extra cautious and to do everything we can to ensure our safety and that of our loved ones.
Chinese herbal medicine looks pretty efficient for two reasons. One is because they are already being tested by the authorities and have proved to be quite good. Another reason is that the people of China have been practicing and using their herbal medicines for a long time.
In China, their traditional herbal remedies have treated many severe health issues over the centuries. Moreover, in China, their medicine is being used to treat COVID-19, and the results have been quite good.
