Omer Nadeem- Tera Hojaun

Sometimes when you hear a song for the first time, you just know

“I think music in itself is healing,” American musician Billy Joel once said. “It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.” Most of us would wholeheartedly agree with this statement, and it is this universal bond with music that has led researchers across the globe to investigate its therapeutic potential.

Sometimes when you hear a song for the first time, you just know. This is what we felt when we first heard Omer Nadeem. This a musician from Lahore is back with a bang with his new single Tera Ho Jaun, and it is the type of music our chaotic world needed.

Omer Nadeem is not a name unheard of. Let us take you back in time. This was where the band Jal was born, right before the very eyes of Omer, as Atif was invited by Goher at Haider Haleem’s place so that the four of them would Jam together and compose music. Thus Omer Nadeem was part of the official line up of Jal in 2001 playing bass for them. He later went on to composing music for Roxen as Jal band split up. It won’t be wrong to say Omer Nadeem had a huge hand in Roxen’s success although with some controversies as well.

But the artist was aware of the potential he held. He already has a vast number of unplugged versions of his songs available over the internet and many fans follow his work on social media. Already Omer’s has featured in Bollywood along with many other artists such as Khiza, Shreya Ghoshal, Myra etc. Recently he announced a comeback after being on the soft side of releasing music for some time with song Tum Na Aoge, which was a huge success and appreciated across the border as well, his latest single is new hype on social media for all the right reasons.

The song takes you on a journey as Omer describes it “Tera Ho Jaun is about my passion, love and selflessness towards my creator in a unique and personal way. All the things that we are after all our lives become so small and meaningless when we really understand the true meaning of life.”

The song means love, dedication, passion, devotion towards the Creator. After a slow R&B start, the buzzes with rhythm that takes you to a special place and gets you ready for what is about to be unleashed. The beat reaches the bridge and breaks in to rock with some amazing alaaps, something Omer has been known for and you just can’t help feel the emotion, that also make you want to sing with it. Overall, an amazing piece of music for someone who has really grown in to his style.
