Australia won their sixth World Cup by beating the hosts, India. People on social media had a range of reactions, with some praising the Kangaroos for their win and others being upset about the Blues’ loss.
The powerful Aussies easily beat India’s 241-run goal thanks to Travis Head’s brilliant hundred. This was after the Kangaroos lost two early wickets.
Australia has now won more ODI World Cups than any other team. India and the West Indies are now tied for second place with two titles each.
Online users, past players, politicians, and cricket fans all had different feelings about Australia’s win over the hosts.

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag said, “We can hold our heads high for the effort our boys put in throughout the tournament.” He also said, “Many congratulations to Australia on winning the World Cup.” They had the best team on the day of the race.

Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India, said that the Rohit-Sharma family brought “immense pride to the nation.”
“Congratulations to Australia on their wonderful World Cup win! Their work throughout the tournament was admirable, and their win was truly magnificent. “I want to praise Travis Head for playing so well today,” he said.

Waqar Younis, a former Pakistani speedster, said it in a mocking way, as if they knew the whole time that the Kangaroos would beat India in the final.
