The current North Nazimabad A.C., Hazim Bangwar wrote songs for Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Jesse J and many others to make some extra cash during his undergraduate days. Writing songs is not an easy skill only a creative mind can do that and that too for Hollywood A-Listers. He said that he has collaborated with a number of famous artists from Hollywood and his career was flying but he had to come back to Pakistan to serve his people as he felt this was the right thing to do.
Bangwar appeared as a guest on The Mathira Show, where he discussed his childhood in the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as why he abandoned his relatively wealthy life, which included limos and record labels, to become a commissioner in Pakistan.
Bangwar called the song he created for the aforementioned artists Minaj’s High School. “I wrote Nicki Minaj’s High School, so you sell songs. The same song appeared on her CD, it was also a hit, and the rest is history,” he said.
Bangwar talked a little about his life, describing how his mind was constantly split between arts and academics. While pursuing his singing career, he earned his LLB and a bachelor’s degree in fashion marketing. “I finished my LLB, and then fashion marketing and I also signed music companies. So there were albums, trips, limos, and first-class tickets, and I felt I was in good hands. I felt I’d made it, but when I visited Pakistan, reality set in.”

The 29-year-old said that the worsening condition of life in Pakistan compelled him to return. “I’d think that ‘I’m going first class in Emirates and here folks are battling to ride on regular buses. I’m eating the greatest cuisine from the best restaurants, while everyone else is starving. ‘What am I doing?’ I’d wonder. I was alienated from my surroundings. I had the impression that I was squandering time and not accomplishing enough.”
The multi-talented commissioner said that he resolved to stop moaning about the disparities in reality and instead took and passed the commissioner test. I passed the test and began working in the field. I began as an Assistant Commissioner in the Central Region and am currently an Assistant Commissioner in North Nazimabad.”
Bangwar became an internet phenomenon when photos of him went viral upon the announcement of his appointment. Users were relieved to have an educated and fashionable commissioner among them.
