The Transport Ministry is making an enormous effort to empower and safeguard women who want to travel safely and affordably for the first time in Pakistan.
The Sindh government has now made the decision to introduce the “Pink People’s Bus” service in Karachi for women.
Sharjeel Inam Memon, the provincial minister of transportation, made the choice. According to the minister, the bus service’s inaugural route would run from Model Colony in Shahrah-e-Faisal to Tower on February 1.
According to Sharjeel, the pink bus would run once every hour during the day and once every 20 minutes during peak office commute times. The bus services that began in Sukkur, Larkana, and Hyderabad as well as the introduction of routes 4, 5, and 7 in Karachi were also discussed by the officials during the meeting.
Sharjeel directed the managing director of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority to visit the remaining routes of the People’s Bus Service in Karachi.
The provincial minister for Transport tweeted the exciting news.
