BRT Hayatabad Launched

The city mayor said that work on the launching of the shuttle transport service will provide the best transportation facilities to the people. The steps were being taken for operating more BRT buses on different feeder routes.

Peshawar is known as the city of flowers, but we can’t see that anymore. Its air is now polluted because of an increase in traffic causing thick smoke and deafening noise of horns. Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) service is a good addition to the transport service in Hayatabad and was a much-needed one. This is going to relieve the traffic jams and facilitate the commuters to a great extent.

Haji Zubair Ali, City Mayor Peshawar has said that planning is underway to launch a BRT service on Ring Road from Hayatabad to Warsak Road to provide better transport facilities to commuters.

He was speaking at a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TransPeshawar Fayyaz Khan and Director Finance, K-P Urban Mobility Authority Aamir Shaukat Ali which was also attended by Chairman of Tehsil Pishtakhara Haroon Siffat, Director Finance of Metropolitan Government Peshawar Shaukat Ali Khan and others.

During the meeting, the CEO TransPeshawar briefed the City Mayor in detail on BRT service, routes, manpower, purchase of more buses, provision of transportation facilities, maintenance of vehicles, security system, cleanliness, and allocation of special seats for women and transgender on the BRT buses.

The mayor termed the allocation of separate seats for women and transgender on BRT buses welcoming and directed guaranteeing better facilities to women and transgenders. This will certainly make life easier for the people and will give a better way to be able to commute.
