Pakistanis don’t let any opportunity go to showcase their talents and to make Pakistan proud. Arooj Aftab is one example of that – of the amazing, and super talented singer and how she managed to get to Time Square. She has now become a household name in Pakistan – with her songs. And recently, she embarked on the journey to be the brand ambassador for Equal Pakistan because of which, the world got to see her poster on Time Square.
“I am extremely excited to be the first Ambassador of EQUAL Pakistan because this kind of well-structured program will help uplift women in the audio industry of Pakistan.” said the singer.
She is also the woman who was nominated for the Grammy awards and recently gave us a beautiful song to vibe to. Yes, her Coke Studio season 14 song with Asfar Hussain – Mehram was one of the best songs of the season, and the perfection with which it was delivered made us all cry and smile.
And this young woman is just getting started. She is on a journey to make her mark on the world – with her super amazing songs. She has a genre – a specific genre a sad song, which makes one go back to their heartbreaks, and the time in their lives when they were nothing but sad.
Music is a fast-growing industry in Pakistan, and people – the young and the old coming with new and better ways to give us music. There are fusions, and combinations of artists, we did not think possible. However, all of this hard work and dedication solely goes to the artists because, in Pakistan, music is not an industry that is very highlighted or given a lot of credit.
Keeping all of this in mind, the way that the younger generations in Pakistan are trying to bring an evolution is awe-inspiring. Arooj Aftab is one of those people, who are trying to be a change the way that music is seen in Pakistan.
We want to thank her for her contribution, and all the more people – the artists who are creating legacies – for bringing their stories into their life. We want to thank all of them for their contribution and wish them all the best.
We wish Arooj, all the best for her future, and hope that she continues to do bigger and better things, and continues to inspire us and make us her fan.
