In the docuseries, the history of Armie Hammer’s family goes back as far as Armie’s great-great-grandfather, Julius Hammer.
Julius came to the United States from Russia in 1875. He is known as the founder of the American Communist Party.
The documentary series included claims from Harvard Russian Research Centre’s Joseph Finder that the Russian government-funded the Communist Party via the Hammers in order to “steal technology and trade secrets from the United States.”
When Julius’s son was born, he gave him the name Armand Hammer, which is a mixture of the words “arm” and “hammer.” The hammer is a sign of the communist party. Armie Hammer’s parents are also on the boards of the Los Angeles Dream Centre and the New York Knoedler & Hammer Galleries. His mum is a Los Angeles-based Bible teacher and former bank loan officer. His dad is a member of the Oral Roberts University board of trustees.

When he was getting ready for school, his family moved to Dallas, Texas. In 1993, they went to the Cayman Islands. They lived there for 5 years. Armie went to his father’s school, the Grace Christian Academy, while he was here.
