Some didn’t get the point of all this argument and started calling it an elite vs elite smackdown. This is not all wrong as we didn’t get the reason behind the issue but we got the memes.

On a serious note, Nida Kirmani’s tweet not only offended Meesha Shafi and Faris Shafi but also many Coke Studio lovers found it very offensive. Music is something that surpasses every border, culture, class and what not. Gana tou koi bhi gaye ya koi bhi sunay is par koi copy rights nahien hain unless ap us ganay ko apna bata kay mashoor kar rahay hoon. There is no elite or ghareeb music nor should be musicians be criticised on something like this.

Moreover, Faris Shah’s rap is really popular among youth. If you have an ear for music then admire it and if you don’t like it then prefer constructive critiquing. When this debate and roasting session was going on, we came across a video of Faris Shah that is the best reply to Nida Kirmani’s tweet.
