In a major win, Turkey announces its aim to launch around 50 development projects within Pakistan. The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) will be launching almost 50 new projects in Pakistan in 2022. It aims to help Pakistan in the development of its education, health, and agriculture sectors.
The announcement was made by Muhsin Balci, the programme coordinator for Pakistan announced on the 30th anniversary of TIKA. Under the international brotherhood between the two countries, Turkey believes in helping Pakistan develop its important sectors.
“Pakistan is full of talent and it gives us immense pleasure to give technical support to our brother nation. Pakistan is no foreign country for us. This nation has supported us unconditionally, and our hearts beat for each other,” said Balci.

Pakistan and Turkey enjoy a friendly relationship. The two countries have strong cooperation on various fronts for example defence and economic. In November 2021, Turkey also agreed to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
TIKA is now working in more than 150 countries and we have done more than 30,000 projects since its establishment in different countries. In Pakistan, TIKA set up five water filtration plants in three cities to provide access to safe drinking water to residents. It also installed 60-kilowatt solar energy panels at the Lakki Marwat District Hospital and set up the Emergency Department of the District Headquarter Hospital Upper Dir in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“Whether it is health, energy, or the agriculture sector, Pakistani authorities trust TIKA when it comes to technical support, and in the years to come we’re planning to enhance this cooperation in the field of agriculture also,” Muhsin Balci said.
Pakistan and Turkey have been quite supportive of each other on the international front and share a historic friendship. These relations have been traditionally strong, with both nations maintaining extensive cultural, commercial, strategic, and military cooperation. It is a result of the bond that TIKA has planned 50 new development projects for Pakistan that will help Pakistan prosper.
