The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to get together in Islamabad today (Thursday) to determine whether or not the Shawwal moon has been spotted. They will be sitting for the moon sighting.

According to a statement released by the religious affairs ministry the week before last, the meeting is going to take place at the ministry’s headquarters in the nation’s capital, and the chairman of the Ruet-e-Halal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, would serve as the meeting’s moderator.

In addition, the statement mentioned that meetings of the zonal committees will be conducted at predetermined places all around the nation.

Earlier, Khalid Aijaz, secretary general of the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, stated unequivocally that there will be no sighting of the moon on April 20.

The official stated in an interview with Geo News that the crescent signifying the beginning of Shawwal will be visible following the conclusion of 30 days of Ramadan. As a result, Eid ul Fitr will take place on Saturday, April 22, according to the calculations.

According to Aijaz, the new moon will be born around 9:13 a.m. on April 20 and will be less than 10 hours old at that moment.

The length must be greater than 19 hours for the crescent to be seen, and even if the sky is clear on that day (April 20), the moon will not be visible.

Due to Ramadan’s 30-day duration and the subsequent occurrence of the 1st of Shawwal on April 22, any testimony received on April 20 would be fraudulent.

From April 21st to the 25th, the federal government has declared a five-day Eid holiday.
