Actor, Presenter Tony Navaid Rashid Passes Away

Tony Navaid was most known for a piece on Pakistani cinema that aired on Nadia Khan’s morning show. He has frequently voiced his support for emerging musicians, and on the Khuda Kay Liye red carpet, he continued that trend. 

Presenter, photographer and actor Tony Navaid Rashid passed away on Wednesday according to the news confirmed by his fellow colleagues and friends.

There have been several significant moments in Tony Navaid Rashid’s three decades in showbiz. His TV career began in 1999 with PTV after he worked as a culture correspondent for an English-language newspaper. Tony was a multi-talented individual who was referred to be a “saucy” film critic because of his “jolly and fun-loving attitude.” He gained notoriety in 2006 thanks to his movie review segment Malai Mar Ke in the famous Nadia Khan Show. Tony also had brief playing roles in Mein Aisa Kyun Hoon, Family Front, and Teen Patti.

As per reports, Rashid passed away due to a cardiac arrest. News of his sudden demise came as a shock to those in the entertainment fraternity. Actor Mishi Khan took to her Instagram account to offer her condolences.

Actor Maria Wasti also expressed her grief. “Rest in peace, Tony,” she wrote on Instagram. “Can’t believe you left us so soon. You were larger than life and there was not a single boring moment around you. You will be missed dearly.”

While actor Saba Qamar tweeted, “I’m shocked and saddened by the devastating news about Tony Navaid. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May Allah bless the departed soul.”
