On Thursday, a leopard caused a man to sustain injuries when it broke into a house that was still in the process of being built in Phase-II of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in Islamabad.
After the event, the Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Rural Zukhruf Fida Malik issued orders for the inhabitants of the region, telling them to remain inside their homes since a leopard spotted in DHA 2 had been seen in the residential section.
He stated that members of the ICT administration as well as the wildlife department were attempting to locate the animal.
The AC also stated that parks and other areas designated for recreation would stay closed until the whereabouts of the beast could be determined.

Let's go out and put our lives in danger along with making the rescue operation difficult.P.S. the #Leopard was captured alive. Some idiot had kept it as a pet at his home. pic.twitter.com/NN1yp5UlaE

This leopard spotted in DHA 2 was kept by someone at home as a pet. People have started to spark their views on Twitter that it is completely a sane thing to keep leopard as a pet.
Imagine a Gen. Sahab owning a Leopard, which was caged for god knows how long. Then it goes rougue & literally no one knows how to control it. Idk if we even have a dept trained for that Meanwhile 2 guards loose their lives & as usual tamasha dekha ja raha h #Leopard pic.twitter.com/4Mdp6ftP7f

If it’s confirmed that this #leopard escaped from a privately owned facility, then serious charges should be pressed again the owner and complete ban should be enforced on keeping big cats in private ownership @DHA2islamabad @TRAFFIC_WLTrade #commonleopard isn’t common! pic.twitter.com/yPAHUMAbzt

Majority have reported that this poor animal needs to be kept safely from where it cannot be rescued.
Is it true that the poor #Leopard belongs to Rtd General Akram in #dha2? If yes, I would request @WWFPak to take control and SAVE this endangered species! They fired at the leopard as well. The only country in the world where Rtd Generals keep a Leopard too… Have some shame. pic.twitter.com/7flCIQJJ1c

If Adil Raja @soldierspeaks would have kept the #Leopard instead of Gen Akram Raja, I am pretty sure establishment must have filled an FIR of sedition against him by now and judges must have ordered his imed arrest 😀😀😀. @OfficialDGISPR pic.twitter.com/IX8uDGTTEx

Shame on the management of DHA! This #Leopard is roaming OPENLY since morning, yet not even a SINGLE wildlife worker with a tranquilliser is there. Tamashaybeen are on the streets rather than staying at home and guards are SHOOTING at this RARE species. NALAYAK QOUM 🤦🏽♂️ #dha2 pic.twitter.com/LGhDDyiAMf
