We don’t know if it has become India’s habit ya khud se ho jata hai, but the country has its way of involving Pakistan in every issue. Par itna pyar akhir kyun? Even after 75 years India still has some lingering feelings for Pakistan and we literally don’t know how to put an end to this toxic one-sided love. This Pak vs India rivalry has now extended to YouTube.
India Sends Another Guest Our Way
Pak vs India
The rivalry goes back to the times when the Earth was not even created. Seriously, you can’t tell whether the two nations are at war or it’s just regular siblings’ fight. While one is annoying, always poking a nose in everyone’s business and the other with a calm and composed nature. From our songs to border skirmishes, India never misses an opportunity to tell Pakistan that it is still alive and is just waiting for the required attention. But Pakistan being the bara Bhai always tries to keep things in its place. Whether it’s the copying of songs or illegal intrusion into the territory, Pakistan has always put the situation to an end. But this didn’t stop India, when all the aforementioned tactics failed, the country put all its resources and intelligence to find out what would work while everything else failed.
Eureka! YouTube and they just found the elixir of life and probably live on this for eternity. Recently, the news surfaced regarding India banning some YouTube channels. And guess what? 4 Pakistani YouTube channels were on the list too. OH! It really came as a surprise; you must be shocked as well. But this time the reason that was used sounded legit just like the previous ones.
According to India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, 22 channels have been blocked and among them were 4 Pakistani YouTube channels. The reason behind such a drastic step was to stop the misinformation campaign led against Indian forces. The government said, “Multiple YouTube channels were used to post fake news on various subjects such as the Indian Armed Forces.” This step has been criticized and condemned by many and is seen as restricting freedom of speech.
These restrictions are imposed under India’s new IT regulations 0f 2021. As per the new laws, the Indian government is taking certain content down across different platforms to mitigate ‘security threats.’
Yeah, we totally get it this content is more threatening than the nuclear one. That’s why banning Pakistani YouTube channels is the need of the hour.
